So this weekend I went back to Breck for the first time in 2 seasons and I must be becoming a much better rider cause it felt flat with little transition. I practiced going in and out of a couple trees and went off my first real jump and landed it. (fell afterwards due to the excitment but..) Maybe I am just spoiled for riding Loveland or maybe I just need to know the best place to ride there. Mogels excluded can someone tell me where the sick parts of Breck are? Fewer people, more fun stuff?

Re: Breck
Sun, January 8, 2006 - 7:12 AMPeak 8 or trees anywhere. The main purpose for the existence of Breck in my opinion is the series of rollers found on runs on peak 8. I think I can spend about 1/3 of my time on my runs in the air. Good place to learn how to jump, I was sessioning runs there all day once, then mistakenly ended up in the beginner's terrain park and realized I'd been going much bigger than anything there as I eased into the jumps on 8. Also, I hear that the new lift is great.
As for crowds, its always an obstacle course on weekends. -

Re: Breck
Thu, January 12, 2006 - 2:49 PMI talked to my friend that lives there and he said take the new lift and then there is like a 5 minute hike up to a place called the lake shoots and he said there is like a 30-35 ft cornice and it is just awsome over there. He said the huge part well of course there are smaller parts than that.
I told him when he does it to take pictures
I'll post them here

Re: Breck
Fri, October 20, 2006 - 12:46 PMI like Peek 9. There are a few runs that are sick on powder days. There are trees but they are far enough apart that you can still have fun on a snowboard. -

Re: Breck
Tue, October 24, 2006 - 10:06 PMI will be taking up snowboarding this winter and am TOTALLY psyched! I've been skiing for a long time now but am ready to make the transition, I think. I hear the first coupla days are pretty painful and then you just 'get it'. Any tricks or tips you guys have for a gal learning to ride?
